Alternative Streams of Revenue

Our business model incorporates multiple alternate streams of revenue, which shall be taken into consideration in Phase 4 after we stabilise the company and have a regular number of events per week. Such revenue streams include:

1. Sponsorships

We will partner with companies like GrabTaxi by providing our users a TripBuddy.sg discount coupon on their first GrabTaxi ride after they attend an event through our platform. This will be extremely beneficial for both partner organisations

2. Advertisements

Since we, as a start-up, do not have the financial resources or requisite manpower to organise trips overseas, we would join hands with companies that do so and place their advertisements on our platform. This way, we can appeal to all the exchange students who aren’t restricted to travelling within Singapore. Leveraging on our targeted database, we can approach companies who wish to advertise to exchange students as well as local students.

3. Database Conclusions

As a platform having members from the exchange students’ community, we can use the database of such students and provide information on trends related to exchange students coming into Singapore to companies that are willing to pay for such information.

Our Contribution Margin

SGD 5 or 6.5% of trip cost, depending upon the cost of the trip

Transaction Fees

PayPal takes 3.9% cut + SGD 0.50 of each online payment transaction

Paying via credit card costs 2.9% + USD 0.30 for each online payment transaction
