Mise en Place Nearly Done

Coding, digging into ACRA and BizFile archives and managing expenses - December 2015 has been one of the most challenging months since this idea was conceived. However, the fact that we worked with enthusiasm and togetherness allowed us to get a lot of our work done, despite the tight timeline we decided upon. We have launched our coming soon website, that we are buzzing about, and we'll keep you posted on any new developments that take place in the near future. The legal documents have been formulated, and incorporation shall take place once Ernest finds his SingPass password! Now, the biggest challenge is getting the platform and marketing materials ready as soon as possible and getting ready for service! Chop chop!

Post-Exam Update

It's been an exhausting (and boring) month of studying for exams, but now that I've got that out of the way, time to update you guys about our plans. As mentioned both in my own blog and other team members' blogs, we are working towards getting the website up and running as soon as possible, since that is the core of our business.
I am looking into formalities to be completed to set up the company, so that we can be up and running as soon as possible. If only we could all magically get SingPasses, life would be much easier. Nevertheless, we need to move on, and make sure we do this right so that we have one less task to worry about.

Since the Business Plan Presentation

I've been pretty busy since the business plan presentation, which is the main cause for the delay in updating my blog. However, today I have the chance to share with you guys what we've been doing for the last 2 weeks.

After the business plan presentation on the 24th of October, we worked on developing a timeline for the next 2 months to make sure that our marketing and development of the platform had concrete deadlines to be met. We also attended the Young Social Entrepreneurs' Meet organised by the Singapore International Foundation, where we learned about the mentorship and benefits that they provide for young, social entrepreneurs.

We have also planned out a couple of trips - one we organised yesterday and one to be carried out today. Ben and I hosted the trip yesterday for 5 exchange students - 3 from South Korea, 1 from France and 1 from Denmark. We were looking to test whether transportation would be an issue for them, as in, whether they would be hindered by the fact that they had to take public transport instead of being able to travel comfortably in a car. Fortunately, they weren't too bothered by that, though we were fortunate to catch the last bus on the way back, which was a good learning point from last night. The trips must be timed appropriately so as to cater for various possible pitfalls like missing public transport and having to take a cab to get back to campus, or going to a very crowded place during peak hours. That was an interesting observation and one we shall keep in mind while we host and help others host such trips.

December looks to be a very hectic month in terms of development of the platform, but we're confident we can push through and get everything done in time for the launch of our company.

My Role in TripBuddy.sg

As Chief Financial Officer of TripBuddy.sg, I am in charge of all money going in or out of the company. I need to be meticulous and straightforward in my role. Developing these traits, I believe, will help me do my position justice.
